Saint Omega asked:

What is your secret place of peace and contentment? Being in the arms of your beloved, a peaceful stroll in the woods, a tub of ice-cream, a favorite movie or song? Being asleep, drunk or at the planetarium? Reading a familiar book or day dreaming about a secret tryst?

Of course the idea of being snuggled close to the one I love; a chilly night, crickets chirping broken hearted love songs of lost brown eyed adorations and loves unrequited and a soft but nippy breeze.. Oh, that sounds so nice. *sigh*

For me it would have to be those same things but under the starry night sky. My happy place is the sea of stars. Whether alone or in company, it’s the silent roaring of interstellar space that lulls me and gives me a sense of meaning. To me, the cold, freezing depths of infinity are warm and inviting; like a cosmic bonfire, so very pretty.

Oh, I so look forward to being able to float the stars, to swim forever in the gentle currents of the Infinity well. I think there will be beautiful sea turtles adrift and soaring with me, and lovely prismatic starfish; rainbow trout even! =)

And of course all the people in my life I love and who love me; you’ll be there, I think, even though you might still be here! =) That makes me smile. So never imagine you are truly alone or never loved, because neither are true.

Not that, I suppose, it matters. But you are not alone and will always be loved, even if only by someone such as me. =*)

Love,
Omega

Whatever you are smoking, you should share. lol
But to answer your question, my happy place is in the kitchen at my old home just doing nothing. Maybe playing Yahtzee, making cookies, colouring in a Christmas colouring book, going through a Sears catalogue…doesn’t matter.

After we had to leave our churches because of dislike for “queers” Gwen and I would spend sunday mornings in a lovely park. My fondest memory is of spring when the blossoms were falling.

Being with the person I most love…Holding the woman I most love in my arms…Making her feel protected. *I’m a woman by the way. And I haven’t found that person yet*

Beautiful question! I was going to say that my happy place is in the bed asleep knowing that I don’t have to get up early (only if a weekend is approaching) :)

Anywhere where my boyfriend is. He is the best person alive and I am crazy in love with him =]

We just went hiking yesterday and it was so beautiful. It was the most peaceful place I’ve ever been. *Sigh* being with him out in nature…now that’s pure bliss.

Well my happy place would be in the arms of my best friend, half asleep, staring at the night sky filled with stars, while blissfully ignoring the troubles of the world. To me that sounds absolutely perfect, but I doubt this will ever happen.

But I do have a happy place that I visit every once in a while. It’s near my house in a huge lake and in a the middle of the lake there is a little patch of land. On the patch of land there is a little tree with an abandoned tree house in it and I love to sit up there to read, hang out with friends or just sit. I sit there and imagine a perfect world, one without hate, fear or pain.

Well I don’t know what else to write and I hope I helped. I know my punctuation ***** and my English teacher from a couple years back would kill me if she read this XD.

Yes, a lover’s arms is the ideal ‘happy place’. But sometimes you have to provide for yourself.

I can fall asleep, almost anywhere or anytime. It’s part of my laid back nature. There are little things I do to put myself to sleep, and sometimes I don’t even realize I’m doing them. My family knows what to watch for, and I’ve told my friends and coworkers the signs that I’m drifting off, so they can pull me back out of it, when necessary.

I’m also a daydreamer, always have been. The mind can be a wonderful travel agent, taking you away from the here and now.

Well, I can be happy anywhere, but a place that makes me happy is anyplace that allows me to see the full expanses of the sky. I just love star gazing and imagining what is out there. A tub of ice cream wouldn’t hurt either. Every time I look out into space, I am endowed with the ability to time travel; I can see the past, and perhaps the future. All of the celestial bodies and phenomena have me enthralled with their beauty and mystery. That’s why I wanna be an astronomer.

Damn you and those romantic images! LOL ^_^

    My happy place would have to be in a nice slice of chocolate mousse cake (ORGASMIC)! WHOOOOP!! Now THAT is happy! Chocolate is my ***. If you were to see me eating chocolate, you’ll think I’m having a “O” (and that’s because I am). ^___________^;;

But seriously, my happy place would have to be in my memories. There are several memories that I have that, without failure, reduce me to tears. Not sad tears, just, I think of them when I’m really down, and it makes things better. They just have a crying effect on me, because it’s all I have that hasn’t been disrupted by the rest of the world.

Oh Omega, you did it again. I am crying from the beauty of your poetic words and images. First of all, I would never count your love as being from just someone such as you. I feel so happy to know you think of me as one of the people who make you smile and who will not be alone ever and always loved. I feel the same way towards you and I am lucky to be so blessed as to know someone as beautiful as you, inside and out.
Before your words moved me to tears, Sweet Omega, I laughed at the image of the turtles adrift with you in the stars. I imagined those incredibly adorable turtles in “Finding Nemo” (“and I was like whoa”)! The silent roar of interstallar space is a thing of absolute beauty that only a mind as romantic and lyrical as yours could imagine. I think of it and hear the most beautiful music ever written and the sound of primordial space churning to form new stars and planets in a never ending cycle of life. Perhaps a world exists where the horrors of pain and sickness don’t exist; where your soul could take you for a life where you get to be this same beautiful person without all the pain you endure and where you are loved and beheld as the person you were meant to be. You will always be loved as you have loved, dear friend. I am so moved by your expression of exquisite emotions and utter beauty. The poetry of your heart and soul decorate the lives of the people who love you and it gives great pleasure to anyone who can appreciate it and see you as a source of such perfect natural beauty. No other person paints such images with their questions or evokes such feelings of warmth and tenderness as you do. It makes the time well worth it to sit and read your words, feel your emotions and imagine being there with you. I spend a lot of time with your words because they take me to places that relax me and that focus my eyes on the things that matter most in life but that I don’t always pay attention to. Thank you my dear friend, for once again making me pause in my life to experience real love and peace. I am grateful to you for all that you have done in my life. I find it difficlt to think of these things in the way you express them, so I am thankful that someone as awesome as you is here to share them with us. Dear Tris, you are loved and appreciated and held in high regard by many. I hope you feel that you too are never alone.
    Love,
    ~Rob R
