Labs and retrievers are great dogs. Some spaniels can be moody otherwise I would say get another one of them. I don’t know anything about German Shepards. Good luck. I would get a female Golden Retriever.

The best thing to do is research the breeds that you are interested in and find one that suits your lifestyle.

A Sheppard pup would would be a good friend to you family, but for all round good natured, get along with everybody, a retriever (lab or golden) is the best. I have one of each, and we’re always laughing at their goofy ways…and they love to go for walks.

I had a brittany spaniel x border collie mix who lived to nearly 17 years of age. He was obstinate, he was hyper, and he was loving and the love of my life…
Would I trade those years? No way. Would I get another, probably not.

I also had two lab mixes that were the most loving, loyal animals that have ever been known to man. One male, one female. These dogs have me convinced that a lab or lab mix is the ONLY dog for me from now on!

By the way… I only get dogs from shelters or friends, there’s too many unwanted animals in the world to go otherwise! Support Your Local Animal Shelter!
